Rainband confirmed to play BL9weekender festival with Razorlight, Echo and The Bunnymen and The Happy Mondays

The BL9weekender festival will be the first music event to take place at the JD Stadium, Gigg Lane Bury. Acts confirmed so far are The Rainband, Razorlight, The Happy Mondays and Echo &┬áThe Bunnymen. Playing on the hallowed Gigg Lane turf will be extra special for Rainband co-founder and guitarist Phil Rainey who is a lifelong Bury FC fan. Phil had this to say…

“We’ve played City Square at The Etihad Stadium and some monumental outdoor festivals with Paolo Nutini and Simple Minds but this will be our first football stadium gig inside the ground. I’ve had some great times and some shockers in the stadium over the years so I’m looking forward to a good one, hopefully celebrating promotion to League One at the same time. It really does mean a lot to play this festival, my Grandad introduced me to the club as a small child, he passed away two years ago and his ashes were scattered on the pitch. This ones for him too.”
