GIMME LOVE TOUR HITS THE UK

It’s been a while, but the band have been busy in the studio this winter finalising tracks for their second album. The album is scheduled to be released this Autumn. Live favourite ‘Gimme Love’ is ear-marked to be the first single release in May. All together 20 new tracks have been recorded. Titles include; Gimme Love, Outta Sight, Otherside, New York, Andy Warhol, Is This What You Get, Realise, Heading South, Blink Of An Eye, Back To You and Hourglass.

You can catch the band live in Manchester, London and Glasgow in May with a short promo tour for single ‘Gimme Love’. They play the Dublin Castle, London on Friday 5th May, Manchester’s Deaf Institute on Saturday 6th and Glasgow King Tuts on Friday 19th May. Tickets are available online from out ‘Tour’ page.

Love Not War – Merry Christmas from The Rainband

Earlier this year The Rainband were asked to write an exclusive Christmas song for Virgin Radio in Italy. Love Not War was born during the balmy late Indian summer in the North-West of England.

Recorded early in September in Manchester, the band quickly arrived at the decision to involve a local children’s choir to really add a Christmas vibe to the track. With the help of St Monica’s School Choir the track just felt right. The video was recorded in December 2016 in the school hall (we couldn’t confuse children that Christmas is in September!). Enjoy the song and video, Have a wonderful and hopefully peaceful Christmas. We’ll see you all in the New Year for album number 2 and the Gimme Your Love tour in the spring!

Rainband feature on Virgin Radio Italy’s compilation ‘Xmas Rock 2’ with new Christmas song ‘Love Not War’

The Rainband were invited by Virgin Radio to write and record an exclusive Christmas song for their festive compilation release ‘Xmas Rock 2’. The album features 14 previously unheard tracks and features an host of artists including Glenn Matlock of The Sex Pistols.

Virgin Radio added ‘There’s strength in all the songs on this Xmas in Rock 2 compilation: all have been created exclusively for Virgin Radio, and all, except for the cover, contain the quote “Virgin Radio” in the lyrics.

The Rainband’s ‘Love Not War’ features vocals from St Monicas School Choir in Manchester. The track is available on CD in Italy and to download worldwide from Amazon music.

The Rainband all set for the Italian MotoGP in Mugello

Final rehearsals are under way for The Rainband’s upcoming show at the Scarperia Festival in Italy on May 21st. It’s the bands fifth year playing the festival which occurs at the time of the Italian MotoGP in at the Mugello Circuit.

This year promises to be something spectacular as Italian TV network Rai, Virgin Radio and Rolling Stone Italia will be broadcasting from the event.

KENDAL CALLING!!

The Rainband are now confirmed to play Saturday at Kendal Calling, the multi award winning festival in Lowther Deer Park, Kendal. The festival takes place on 28-31 July 2016 with The Rainband performing on The Calling Out stage.

It promises to be a fantastic weekend of music with performances across numerous stages from Rudimental, Madness, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Charlatans, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Everything Everything and Blossoms.

New festival date announced at Summer Days, Clitheroe

The Rainband are confirmed to play Saturday’s main stage at the Summer Days Festival at Clitheroe Castle. A 3 day music festival with 2 stages featuring over 30 artists. Saturday’s line-up includes The Rainband, Echo & The Bunnymen,Everything Everything, The Mystery Jets and The Lightening Seeds.

Video for ‘Storm’ officially premiered on Rolling Stone Italia

The video release to new single ‘Storm’ was officially premiered on Rolling Stone Italia today. The video brings together the powerful message within the song and features iconic political footage.’Storm’ is the lead track from the forthcoming ‘Satellite Sunrise’ album and was released on Friday 18th March. The album is due to be released on Friday 8th April as a download. A limited edition run of vinyl and physical CD copies are available to pre-order from The Rainband store on this website
