The Rainband support The Kaiser Chiefs at Triumph Live, Mallory Park

Friday – You often feel with a name like ours, we’d never have room to complain about the weather, well Friday was no exception. As main support to veteran rockers Reef, some could be forgiven for thinking the weather could put a dampener on the start of Triumph Live. It had the opposite effect. From the opening exchange with the audience where Martin shunned the Shelter of the stage and got out on the edge with the crowd saying “We’re from Manchester. You could be forgiven for blaming us for the weather with a name like ours so You don’t mind if I join you…” the night took off and the band never looked back. Reef played a blinding set and as always were real decent lads to play music with.

Saturday – After an action packed day of interviews, BBQ’s & playing an acoustic showcase at the VIP bar, the band took to the stage as main support to the Kaiser Chief’s to the biggest crowd we’ve played to. The Atmosphere was electric and having met the Kaiser’s before, it was great that both bands watched each other’s set. Rowetta joined the band for The Prodigal before the crowd took “Rise Again” to a new level.
The Kaiser’s gave great support to “Rise Again” when we released it in the UK and for them to hit twitter and their social networks giving major plaudits about our gig, meant an awful lot to us and shows them for what they are – genuine lads and one of very best bands out of Britain right now which their gig at Mallory showed

The Rainband support Simple Minds on Italian tour

Modena – Last year, on the Monday after we played Delamere Forest with Simple Minds, I remember seeing, that night they were playing this massive Italian square and thinking “One day I’d love to do that………and then there we were Modena. It was mobbed and from the point we took to the stage and said “Bueono Sera” to the final note of “Rise Again” it felt like home.
Amazing crowd made up of really genuine people. It was a real pleasure to play and a night I’ll never forget”

Roma Rocks – With news that Rowetta would join us on stage for The Prodigal, it always felt like Rome would be special…….and it was. When you see 12,000 hands in the air to Rise Again, it feels like the tribute to Marco had his very spirit in the air that night. I’d love to go back to Rome sometime soon and maybe this will happen sooner than we think. Roma Rocks…I couldn’t agree more.

Grado – Every Musician will tell you that there is nothing more inspiring that playing music and looking out to sea. Normally this is reserved to an acoustic guitar and a beach fire but not Grado. What an unbelievable setting for a concert. To play to 5,000 and be less than 50m from the sea was the stuff of dreams……so much so Steve Irlam and half the band, within five minutes of finishing the set, were literally swimming. A really unique gig but the same warmth of feeling from a packed out crowd, many wearing 58 on their t-shirts……left me feeling I cannot wait to get back to Italy
