The Rainband will be going out on tour in March 2019 playing in London, Manchester and Glasgow. The tour will feature the band’s biggest hometown show for 4 years and will surely be a night to remember. We look forward to seeing you all at one of the dates, ticket links are below!
Following on from the success of 2016’s debut ‘Satellite Sunrise’, The Rainband release their follow up album ‘The Shape Of Things To Come’ in February 2018. The album features 12 new originals from the band, leading off with live favourite ‘Gimme Love’ – which has been a staple of performances over the last 18 months – and closing with the brilliance of the epic ‘Heading South’. ‘The Shape Of Things To Come’ is a brighter and more optimistic response to The Rainband’s moodier and bluesier predecessor ‘Satellite Sunrise’. Whether it’s the jingle-jangle pop bliss of ‘New York, the soul driven ‘Out Of Sight’, the psychedelic ‘Warhol’ or the East coast club menace of ‘Blink Of An Eye’, the album will not disappoint.
Recorded at Airtight and 80Hertz Studios Manchester from September 2016 through to February 2017 the album was produced, mixed and mastered by long-term collaborator Greg Morton.
The album is ready to pre-order as a download now through the stores below. The band will also tour the UK and Europe in February and March 2018 to promote ‘The Shape Of Things To Come’.

The Rainband will join Maximo Park, Billy Bragg, Mo from The Voice, Eliza and The Bear plus loads more at RIVFEST 2017 in September.
RivFest, the event set up by the family of the late Viola Beach guitarist River Reeves will take place on Saturday 2 September at Priestly College in Warrington, the home town of the band who died in a tragic car accident last year.
The four members of Viola Beach – Reeves, Kris Leonard, Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin – and their manager Craig Tarry were all killed when their car fell off a bridge in Sweden in February 2016.

The Rainband’s new album material made an early appearance this summer during the BBC’s coverage of Wimbledon 2017. New track ‘New York’ featured on multiple historic and iconic moments from SW19. From Arthur Ashe’s victory over Jimmy Connors in 1975 (incidentally the year The Rainband we’re truly born!) through to Nadal beating Federer in the dark in 2008, the sound of The Rainband’s uplifting, jangly summer vibe served up (sorry!!!) a perfect backdrop.
It’s been a while, but the band have been busy in the studio this winter finalising tracks for their second album. The album is scheduled to be released this Autumn. Live favourite ‘Gimme Love’ is ear-marked to be the first single release in May. All together 20 new tracks have been recorded. Titles include; Gimme Love, Outta Sight, Otherside, New York, Andy Warhol, Is This What You Get, Realise, Heading South, Blink Of An Eye, Back To You and Hourglass.
You can catch the band live in Manchester, London and Glasgow in May with a short promo tour for single ‘Gimme Love’. They play the Dublin Castle, London on Friday 5th May, Manchester’s Deaf Institute on Saturday 6th and Glasgow King Tuts on Friday 19th May. Tickets are available online from out ‘Tour’ page.
